Everyone knew all tea came from a single plant calls Camellia Sinensis and the tea processes that made them into Black tea, White tea, Green tea, and of course Oolong tea.
Thai iced tea can be cathegorized under flavored Black tea since the tea leaf has distinctive aroma of burnt sugar which obtains after the leave were fermented and roasted.
Thai people drink iced tea both plain and with sweeten condensed milk and sugar. Both type of Thai iced teas are common drinks in Thailand and have been part of Thai’s daily life.
Thai iced teas are served in every street corners and villages in Thailand and most Thai restaurants worldwide. Thai tea is almost always served pre-sweetened with sugar and sweetened condensed milk or heavy cream to non-Thais which lead to mistaken believe that the sweetness is the character of Thai iced tea. Thai iced tea need not to made sweet. The sweetness can be adjust to individual’s preferences. Cream or milk also suitable to add to Thai tea. Coconut milk has never been an ingredient of Thai iced tea.
